MINI-MITES/KICKERS ROSTERS
MINI-MITES/KICKERS SCHEDULES

For fall 2019, Bloomington United is excited to partner with the Bloomington Athletic Association (BAA) to offer our Kickers program to all Preschool and Kindergarten players in Bloomington. In a joint effort between the two organizations, BAA will provide the registration and administrative support and Bloomington United will provide the personnel to plan and staff the soccer sessions.

To register for the fall Kickers program this year, you will create an account on the BAA website and complete registration there. For United families with preschool or kindergarten players next fall who have played in the Kickers program previously, there will be no visible changes other than the registration process. Once registered, the club will communicate with you and all participants as we have in the past.  For this fall, Bloomington United will offer only our Rec Plus program beyond the joint effort with BAA. If you have players in 1st Grade or older wishing to play recreational soccer, you will do so through BAA. Bloomington United staff will be working with BAA staff and coaches on player/coaching clinics throughout the fall season, so you will likely see familiar faces this fall in new settings.

If you have questions on fall soccer at any age, contact [email protected] or call the club at 952-563-9814.

UNITED KICKERS (Pre-K and Kindergarten)

UNITED Kickers is the ideal entry point for your child into team sports with the focus on having fun and creating new friendships for your children and for you. Kickers is open to all children Pre-K and Kindergarten

Combination of Staff and Parent Involvement
Kickers relies on a combination of our staff trainers and parent volunteer managers. Team Managers ensure the players and parents are having fun by making sure they are in the right place each week. Each two teams will share a field with a staff trainer handling the soccer portion and ideally a team manager for each team.
Learn More About Team Manager Duties

- Be visible at each week's event (manager's get a t-shirt that matches their team's uniform)
- Stay with the team to keep the players organized while the trainer trains them
- Stay with the team during the game to help get players on and off the field when the trainer asks for them
- Optional but fun things some of our parent managers do is arrange a snack schedule for other parents to bring snacks after each game, arrange a play date before or after a game for the kids and parents to know one another, send out a weekly email (distribution list provided by club) to remind parents of field number and snack parent each week

If you are interested in being a team manager, contact Tim ([email protected]).

Getting Your Young Player Ready For Kickers
With Kickers being an entry point to team sports for a lot of kids, here's a quick list of items to help as you prepare your young player:
- If they are anxious the first day, feel free to walk onto the field with them and participate.
- If your player doesn't want to go onto the field, look for one of our staff members who can help break the ice.
- If it doesn't go well the first day, don't press your player. Simply allow them to watch and try later or come back for the next session.

Fall is filled with lots of new and at times scary things for young players with the start of school, so often the first day of Kickers can be one more of those scary things. Please reach out to our staff with questions or if the first day isn't as smooth as you'd like.

Our Kickers program consists of 8 1-hour sessions in summer and 6 in fall with half the session devoted to teaching skills and the other half to playing a small sided game (typically 3v3 or 4v4). The sessions are designed specifically for each age group by our recreational program director and led by staff trainers or parent volunteers who have a strong soccer background. Our staff trainers include high school varsity players from our club, college players who have played for our club and staff coaches.
